For all classes except Foundation
Certain standards of obedience are required before enrolling a dog in TAG group agility classes above the foundation level. As a minimum, dogs must have a sit; 30-second sit stay; down; 30-second down stay; reliable recall with distractions.

At no time will any dog who is aggressive to people or other dogs be accepted for agility training. Additionally, dogs must not be excessively shy and must accept approach and handling by the instructors.

Experienced students working above the foundation level who are new to Touch & Go can gain access to group classes after one or more private instruction/evaluation classes.

Foundation Skills for Agility:  Open to puppies at least 12 weeks old and to adult dogs with little or no previous agility exposure. This class focuses on building obedience, motivation and other basic skills necessary to build a good agility dog. This is not your traditional agility class. There is little emphasis on equipment training or sequencing except to show how the skills being taught in class will relate to future training. This is where all dogs new to Touch & Go begin if they have no significant previous agility training.

New Puppy Consultations:  Will show you what to do with your new puppy to set him/her on the right path to being a great performance dog.

Novice:  Open to dogs with previous agility training who are not yet competing or who are competing but still have equipment/motivation problems. These classes focus on building equipment skills and increasing motivation.

Intermediate:  Open to dogs that are able to perform all obstacles at competition standards.  Dogs with motivation problems are accepted into this level, but may be restricted to working on building motivation rather than sequencing.

Advanced:  No serious equipment problems permitted in these classes. These classes focus on increasing speed on course and teaching handling skills and strategies.

Masters:  Open only to dogs competing at the top levels of a venue. These classes focus on fine tuning performance, handling skills, and strategy. Dogs with motivation problems or significant equipment problems are not permitted in Masters’ level classes.

Class Make Up
If a student knows they will be unable to attend a class, they may apply to attend an alternate class of the same level. This will be approved on a space available basis. To obtain permission to attend an alternate class, daytime students must contact us by phone or email no later than 7 pm the day prior to their class; evening students must contact us no later than 10 am the day of their anticipated absence.  Please do not just show up for a make up class unless you receive approval. There may not be a space available to you and we will not overfill class to allow make ups.

Facility/Rental
It is increasingly evident that practice away from class is extremely valuable in helping you achieve your competitive goals. We expect all of our competition students to spend time every week practicing away from class. You will only get out of this sport what you put back into it. The Touch & Go Agility field is available for rent, to Touch & Go students. Appointments are made through the TAG Yahoo Group Calendar.
